BitTube is a decentralized blockchain project that aims to replace YouTube with its ad-free, cryptocurrency-powered video platform.
BitTube platform does away with centralized storage, and also remove the need for advertising to generate revenue. Instead, content producers will receive payment for producing and uploading videos. The payments will be made in the native currency of the BitTube platform, known as the BitTube Coin.
BitTube relies on a peer-to-peer distributed network, called IPFS, for hosting and distributing videos: this way, BitTube helps promote free speech and prevent censorship.
